Inspections for bond line corrosion must be performed within 12 months, with repairs completed within 48 months or before further flight if corrosion exceeds allowable limits.
Summary
Correction to Airworthiness Directive 2022-16-04 issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) addresses inspection and repair of the horizontal stabilizer lower skin, bonded doublers, and stringers on Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation Model GV and GV-SP airplanes, including G500, G550, and G500-5000 variants. The correction fixes errors in revision levels and table references in the original directive's regulatory text without changing the substantive requirements.
What changed
This correction updates the revision level of the Gulfstream V Aircraft Maintenance Manual from Revision 53 to Revision 51 and corrects the Horizontal Stabilizer Inspection Table reference from Table 11 to Table 12 in the Credit for Previous Actions section. No other changes to compliance requirements or procedures were made, and the effective date remains unchanged.
Why it matters
Accurate references to maintenance manual revisions and inspection tables are critical for operators and maintenance personnel to ensure proper compliance with inspection and repair requirements. This correction prevents confusion and potential errors in maintenance programs, supporting continued airworthiness and safety of affected Gulfstream aircraft.
