What to do
Operators of Embraer EMB-505 aircraft must install the specified structural reinforcements within 60 months from the effective date of August 10, 2023, following Embraer Service Bulletin No. 505-25-0044 or later ANAC-approved revisions. They must also record the modification in maintenance logs and may seek alternative compliance methods only with ANAC approval.
Summary
Brazilian Airworthiness Directive 2023-07-01 is an official correction and directive issued by the Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) affecting Embraer S.A. EMB-505 aircraft. It mandates the installation of structural reinforcements on the LH Refreshment Center and LH Forward Cabinet to ensure these components can withstand emergency landing loads. This directive applies to all EMB-505 airplanes as specified in Embraer Service Bulletin No. 505-25-0044.
What changed
This document corrects a printing error in the English version of the original Airworthiness Directive 2023-07-01 by clarifying that the required action is the installation of structural reinforcements. It introduces a mandatory modification to reinforce specific cabin monuments on the Embraer EMB-505 aircraft to prevent detachment during emergency landings.
Why it matters
This directive is critical for aviation professionals because it addresses a safety risk where unsecured cabin furnishings could detach during emergency landings, potentially causing injuries to occupants. Operators and maintenance teams must ensure compliance to maintain aircraft airworthiness and passenger safety. Failure to comply could result in unsafe aircraft operation and regulatory penalties.
