Summary
EASA Airworthiness Directive Cancellation Notice 2024-0074-CN cancels the previous Emergency AD 2024-0074-E which suspended flight operations of Blackshape S.p.A. BS 115 aeroplanes, including BK 160, BK 160-200, and BK 160TR models. The cancellation follows new data indicating that the second accident involving a BS 115 aeroplane may have resulted from operation beyond certified limits rather than a structural failure. This notice removes the suspension on all BS 115 flight operations.
What changed
This document cancels the earlier Emergency AD 2024-0074-E that mandated suspension of all flight operations for BS 115 aeroplanes. The cancellation is based on updated investigation data showing that the suspension is no longer necessary. No new actions or compliance requirements are introduced by this cancellation notice.
Why it matters
For aviation professionals, this cancellation means that operators of BS 115 aeroplanes can resume normal flight operations without restrictions imposed by the previous emergency directive. Maintenance and compliance teams no longer need to enforce the suspension, reducing operational disruptions. It also reflects the importance of ongoing investigation data in regulatory decision-making.
