EASA AD 2025-0120
Cabin Systems — Antenna Adapter Plate — Inspection
Summary
EASA Airworthiness Directive 2025-0120 is an airworthiness directive addressing inspection requirements for the antenna adapter plate and related parts installed on Airbus A319, A320, A321, A330, A350, and A380 aircraft models. The directive mandates repetitive general visual inspections of affected broadband antenna adapter plates to detect corrosion and cracks that could compromise aircraft safety. It applies to all manufacturer serial numbers of the specified Airbus models.
What Changed
This directive supersedes EASA AD 2024-0199 and extends the applicability to include the Airbus A321-271NY model, which is newly certified and eligible for installation of the affected parts. It updates the list of applicable Panasonic service bulletins and retains the inspection and corrective action requirements from the previous AD without additional actions for previously affected aircraft.
Why It Matters
This AD is critical for aviation professionals because corrosion and cracks in the antenna adapter plate can lead to in-flight detachment of radome or antennas, potentially damaging the tail section and affecting aircraft control. Operators, maintenance organizations, and compliance teams must ensure timely inspections and corrective actions to maintain aircraft airworthiness and safety. Failure to comply may result in unsafe flight conditions and regulatory non-compliance.
What To Do
Operators of affected Airbus aircraft must perform general visual inspections of the antenna adapter plate within the compliance times specified in the applicable Airbus and Panasonic service bulletins, and repeat inspections every 36 months. Any detected corrosion or cracks must be corrected before the next flight by repair or replacement. Inspection results must be reported to Airbus within 30 days after each inspection. Installation of affected parts is allowed only if they are new, inspected within 36 months, or inspected and corrected before flight after installation.
