Summary
EASA Airworthiness Directive 2022-0235 is an amendment addressing the time limits and maintenance checks for Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd & Co KG RB211-535E4 series engines, commonly installed on Boeing 757 aircraft. This directive mandates compliance with the updated Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4 Time Limits Manual revision 56 dated 01 May 2022 to ensure continued airworthiness. It applies to all serial numbers of the RB211-535E4-37, RB211-535E4-B-37, and RB211-535E4-C-37 engine models.
What changed
EASA Airworthiness Directive 2022-0235 supersedes several previous ADs and incorporates new and more restrictive maintenance instructions introduced in the latest revision of the Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4 Time Limits Manual. It consolidates earlier requirements from both EASA and CAA UK ADs into a single updated maintenance program. The directive requires operators to revise their Aircraft Maintenance Programme to include these updated instructions and thresholds.
Why it matters
This directive is critical for aviation professionals as it ensures that maintenance and life limits for RB211-535E4 engines are up to date with the latest safety standards, preventing unsafe conditions. Operators and maintenance organizations must adhere to these updated requirements to maintain regulatory compliance and ensure engine reliability. Failure to comply could lead to unsafe operation and regulatory penalties.
