Engine Fuel & Control - Power Turbine Governor Bearing Assembly - Removal / Replacement

The Federal Aviation Administration's Airworthiness Directive 2018-13-01 addresses certain Rolls-Royce Corporation model 250-C turboshaft engines installed on single-engine helicopters. This directive mandates the removal and replacement of the power turbine governor (PTG) bearing assembly, part number 2544198, due to reports of engine power loss including a fatal accident. The directive aims to mitigate an unsafe condition by requiring installation of a bearing assembly eligible for installation.
