EASA Regulations for Pratt & Whitney PW4156A

Engine Fuel and Control - Pressure Burner Sensors - Replacement

The Federal Aviation Administration's Airworthiness Directive 2026-21-06 addresses safety issues in Pratt & Whitney Division engines, specifically models PW4052, PW4056, PW4060, PW4060A, PW4060C, PW4062, PW4062A, PW4152, PW4156, PW4156A, PW4158, PW4460, and PW4462. This directive mandates the replacement of pressure burner (Pb) sensors due to reports of tailpipe fires, loss of thrust control, and engine in-flight shutdowns caused by sensor deterioration. The AD aims to mitigate these unsafe conditions by ensuring timely sensor replacement.
