EASA Airworthiness Directive 2019-0237R1 is an amendment addressing inspection, check, and repair requirements for the canopy lock and rear locking rods on DG-Flugzeugbau GmbH DG-500 and DG-1000 sailplanes and powered sailplanes. This directive applies to all serial numbers of DG-500 variants and DG-1000S and DG-1000T sailplanes up to serial number 10-144 inclusive. It mandates inspections and repairs to ensure the canopy locking mechanisms function correctly to prevent blockage of the emergency canopy release system.
