EASA AD 2025-0286
Aircraft Flight Manual — Emergency Procedure Section — Amendment; Master Minimum Equipment List — Amendment; Communications — Digital Radio and Audio Integrating Management System — Modification
Summary
EASA Airworthiness Directive 2025-0286 is an amendment addressing Airbus A330-941 aeroplanes with specific manufacturer serial numbers. It mandates updates to the Aircraft Flight Manual emergency procedures, amendments to the Master Minimum Equipment List, and modifications to the Communications system involving the Digital Radio and Audio Integrating Management System. This directive ensures continued airworthiness and operational safety of affected Airbus A330 aircraft.
What Changed
This directive supersedes EASA AD 2025-0043R1 and requires operators to implement updated emergency procedures and MMEL changes related to radio management panels. Additionally, it mandates the installation of Airbus modification 211442, which updates wiring and software for the Audio Management System to resolve data synchronization issues between radio management components.
Why It Matters
The directive addresses critical failures that could cause loss of radio communication control, unintended transponder and TCAS changes, and activation of standby navigation modes. Compliance is essential to prevent total communication loss and ensure safe operation of affected aircraft. Operators and maintenance teams must update manuals and perform modifications to maintain regulatory compliance and flight safety.
What To Do
Operators must amend the Aircraft Flight Manual and update the Master Minimum Equipment List within 7 days after 26 February 2025, and inform flight crews accordingly. The required modification to install Airbus mod 211442 must be completed within 12 months of 31 December 2025. After modification, previous AFM and MMEL amendments can be removed, and affected parts must not be reinstalled.
